Biggest mistake made, no plan

Having a clear plan with measurements is crucial. I've often seen clients buy furniture piece by piece without a plan, resulting in mismatches. With a plan, you can take your time to find the right elements, knowing they will fit your space and needs. Start by choosing the sofa first, especially in a living room, as the rest of your design will revolve around it. Consider the sofa's layout, size, and functionality, as well as how it fits in the room. The height and scale are also important for guiding the size of the other furniture. After deciding on the size, you can explore colors and materials, but focus solely on the size until you have that figured out. You may completely change your mind when you fall in love with a fabric not expecting in a showroom, then you pivot from there.
